DNA Evidence suggests the Book of Mormon is incorrect

A book entitled, "Losing a Lost Tribe: Native Americans, DNA and the Mormon Church" by Simon Southerton, a former LDS Bishop, claims that the Book of Mormon is false in its teaching that Native Americans and Polynesians are descended from Israelites, citing DNA evidence as proof.

Southerton, who has since quit the Church, now faces excommunication.

What makes this interesting to me, is that this is a case of the LDS Church getting shot by its own gun. It was the LDS Church, through its own Brigham Young University, that perfected the use of DNA to validate claims of descendancies.

Kudos to GenealogyBlog.com for finding this first.
