Map Your Ancestors

Map Your AncestorsA new genealogy service called "Map Your Ancestors" integrates with Google Maps to display your family's chronology, or your personal biography, on a map.

Currently, you upload data via an Excel spreadsheet. The website provides templates. They are currently working on a method that allows you to upload a GEDCOM file.

The new online tool is the creation of Phillip Olsen, who explained that education was what inspired him to build this...
"I grew up in a family that was very active in genealogical work, however it took many years to really understand who my ancestors were and where they came from. Although I was told that some came from Denmark, others from Norway, etc., it never stuck with me. Now that I have a daughter of my own, I wanted to find a way to easily teach her about her ancestors."
The website provides an example of President George W. Bush's ancestry all mapped out.

MapYourAncestors.com is a free service.
